JanSport The Hex Backpack, Can you imagine a world without backpacks? Neither can we. Yet it wasn’t long ago that they were strictly outdoor gear. One fall in the late sixties, the JanSport team heard that students were using the brand’s small cross country daypacks to cross campus instead. It made sense with comfortable padded straps, and easy access front panel opening and catch resistant nylon zippers the bags were just as great for carrying books as they were for carrying gear. Seeing the potential the team made a few notebook worthy design adjustments including the addition of a durable vinyl base to improve weight capacity. Soon after, JanSport began selling the first ever campus backpacks into college bookstores around the country.
A good backpack surely sits atop the list of campus essentials. Enter the Hex from JanSport, an 1,800-cubic-inch backpack that will serve as a student’s closest companion throughout his or her school-age years and beyond. The Hex is outfitted with ergonomic S-curve shoulder straps that follow the natural contours of the body, with a fully padded back panel for increased cushioning comfort. The large main compartment, meanwhile, can hold everything from books to sack lunches to gym shoes. Perhaps the coolest feature, however, is the insulated cooler compartment, which is designed to keep your snacks and beverages fresh and cold. Add in a stash pocket that comes with a removable three-ring binder for easy organization and a lofted pocket for essentials and you have all the storage you need for your school-day activities. Also equipped with a padded grab handle, the Hex measures 16.5 by 20.5 by 9 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 2 pounds 9 ounces.
JanSport The Hex Backpack Reviews
cool bag literally! the cooler compartment is great as it has replaced a lunch bag. my son has to walk with his bag filled with all his books from class to class all day and the bag is very comfortable and helps alleviate strain as a result of this situation. if you want function over style this is the bag to get!
I have been extremely please with this backpack. I purchased this bag because it has the insulated area to keep food and drinks cold. I am 24 years old, work full time and am going for my second degree. So I needed something that I could bring my books in, as well as my lunch to work, since on days I have school, I am at work for 8 hours before going to school. I didn’t want to carry 2 different bags plus a lunch box. The lunch compartment works good. I usually pack it full and use 1 or 2 small ice packs. It keeps my things cold from the time I leave home till I get to work, about an hour and a half till I actually put it in the fridge at work. So that part works great. There is enough room for my biology books as well as my wallet, sunglasses and other things I need on a regular basis. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great multipurpose backpack.
