I needed a CD player/ipod player/radio/clock combo so I could listen to yoga and relaxation music in a room adjacent to our bedroom. This Sony ICF-C7IP exceeded my expectations! Not only did it do all it claimed, I also could plug in my old mini-disc player through its audio in! Since Sony ICF-C7IP’s not next to my bed, the light Sony ICF-C7IP emits is a perfect nightlight glow so I can see my way in the dark. I actually took it with me in the camper and it was absolutely perfect! Sony ICF-C7IP’s so rare for me to find something that I am totally pleased with these days. There’s so much junk out there…

I wanted to add a quick note about this Sony ICF-C7IP clock radio because most of the other reviews for clock radios don’t address the issue that was the most important to me- the strength of the antenna. I was looking for an alarm clock that would get better reception in our bedroom than the one we presently own. This Sony ICF-C7IP is able to pick-up stations that are either too fuzzy to hear or don’t even come in on our current clock.
I also like that the iPod dock slides out, so that I don’t have a large piece of machinery sitting on my bedside table! I am very pleased with this clock radio and my husband is going to be thrilled on Father’s Day!

I just bought this Sony BDP-S360 as an upgrade to my older Samsung BD-P1000 and I must say I am extremely pleased with this player. Sony BDP-S360 was very easy to set up and to operate. I have Sony BDP-S360 connected to my Onkyo TX-SR705 with 7.1 speaker set-up which makes use of the lossless sound decoders. Hearing a movie in DTS- HD Master Audio has been a real experience especially on 7.1 soundtracks. My only complaint (which is minor) is that you have to manually operate the tray open and close from the player itself. This is another great Blu-ray player from Sony. I recommend you buy this player.

I picked this up to put in my Grand Cherokee, and Cobra 75 WXST works perfectly. I think the speaker volume is plenty loud, although if you drove something not as quiet (say a Wrangler, or something with big mud tires/loud exhaust), I would say go for an external speaker. Reception is great and people have no problem hearing me. Great CB for the ocasional CB’er!

I purchased a pair of these headphones early in December and have been extremely pleased with them. Initially I was a little unhappy with them as they sounded almost muted. After doing a bit of research I read that these really needed to be broken in to get the best out of them. After allowing them to break in for a few weeks(I played regular music, as well as putting pink/white noise on loop back for several days) they have gotten much much better. The high end has lots of air without sounding harsh, the mids sound clean and without coloring, and the bass is full and handles transients well.

A note to those who listen to bass heavy music. These do NOT have a ton of bass output. It’s satisfying and well balanced for all of the music I listen to, but there are many other headphones that provide heavier bass if that is your thing.

If you are looking for a nice sound set of headphones that provide excellent sound quality without tiring your ears out, these are great. The also aren’t going to break the bank. I’ll buy another set of these without a second thought.

For the last 18 months, I’ve enjoyed my V-Moda Bass Frequency Earbuds. Comfortable with decent sound these buds, which costs $30 at the time and currently go for $25, seemed an excellent value, especially since they seemed to offer more detail than my very comfortable, capable JBuds, which cost me $20 and are now under $10, a great buy for some back-up buds.

Then recently I noticed the $30 JBuds J2 and was particularly fond of the new orange color. I first tried the J2 buds in my Sangean WR-2, listening to classical and rock, turning up the volume as high as I could without damaging my ears. The sound was full and well balanced. How would they compare against my trusty V-Moda buds?

There was no comparison: The JBuds J2 buds were warmer, fuller and, ironically, had more bass than the V-Moda “Bass Frequency” buds. These latter buds sounded tinny with too much high end compared to the balanced JBuds J2 buds. My wife was nearby. She did the same comparison and agreed that the JBuds J2s are markedly better.

This is a no-brainer. Spend the extra $5 and get the J2s. They come in several colors. I like mine in orange.

I am a big fan of audio drama, and I listen to it constantly at work. I was looking for a nice set of ear buds that would shut out all the other noise and let the story play in my head.

These “JBuds J2 Premium Hi-FI Noise Isolating Earbuds” work even better than expected. The “noise isolating” part is nothing too high-tech; they are basically silicone earplugs with headphones inside. This is quite different from “noise canceling” earphones that go for a much higher price, and usually need batteries. Here, the silicone creates a seal in your ears that prevents outside sounds from coming in. The earbuds have to go into your ears a fair bit for the seal to work, so they can be a little uncomfortable at first. But once you get used to them…wow.

My CDs have never sounded so good. The bass is low and smooth, and adds a whole new layer to the listening experience. Sound travels around in my head as if I was inside the story. Simply amazing.

I have never used these while moving around, or for anything more active than typing, so I don’t know how well they work for those circumstances. They are, however, the best headphones I have ever had. I won’t go back again!

Contrary to the rating given by the previous reviewer, having a camera that is incapable of keeping up with the speed of the card is not a basis for a mediocre rating on the card itself. I’ve got an EOS 20D and I find this card much faster than my 512 Mb Sandisk Ultra II card. I highly recommend the card for those with cameras that have a high speed buffer. It allows many more pictures in a burst than the manufacturers claim because they base their estimates on slower cards. This card is well worth the money if you shoot a lot of high speed activities like sports, racing, airshows, fast moving animals, etc.

I thought I was dreaming a nightmare when I read a review that gave 3 stars to this product because of a limitaton in the product it was used in. I have several SanDisk Extreme III CF and SD (1 gig SD) cards, and they are nothing less than rock solid awesome. I use the SD cards in a Canon S2 IS, and a 1D Mk II N. The CF cards live in the 1D pretty much all of the time.

Other companies make pretty fast and durable flash cards, but SanDisk Extreme III cards are the fastest, and damn near bullet proof to boot. In my humble opinion, they are the best you can buy at the present time. If I happened to have an older camera that is limited in it’s data transfer speed by virtue of it’s vintage, I would still buy the most reliable, and fastest flash media available for it.

The day will come when a new camera tickles your fancy, and it would be a shame to have to discard your current collection of flash cards just because they are too slow to work with your new camera. CF and SD flash cards are here to stay for awhile. They have a lifetime of very active use rated at better than ten years. I can only speak for myself, but in a ten year period, I might buy several cameras.

Go for the best price, but go for the best product too. The SanDisk Extreme III cards cost as little as fifty Dollars per gig, and leave plenty of room for future camera updates.

SanDisk is known as a reliable name in flash memory cards. I have purchased SanDisk memory cards for years and have never had any of them fail on me. So when I recently purchased a new Canon EOS 40D digital SLR camera, I knew that I wanted a SanDisk CompactFlash card, to record all of my precious photos. I looked up the specs of the many choices that SanDisk offers. I also read many reviews, right here on Amazon, and decided that the Extreme III series CompactFlash was what I needed.

Wanting the ability to store several hundred photos on a single card, I chose the 4GB Extreme III CompactFlash card. I inserted the 4GB Extreme III into my new digital SLR camera and formatted it. At 10.1 megapixels, and at the largest JPG setting, my camera shows that the card will hold roughly 900 pictures. I began snapping pictures and was instantly amazed at how quickly the data saved to the card. After I had about 50 pictures on the card, I removed it from the camera and inserted it into the card reader attached to my PC. I copied all of the photos from the card onto my PC hard drive. Again I am amazed at how quickly this memory card can move data. This card is awesome! I have always thought that the many claims of faster speed in memory cards was purely hype, to get consumers to plunk down extra cash. Well I can honestly tell you that there IS a difference. Compaired to an older 512 MB CompactFlash card that I use in a different camera, this Extreme III series card is at least 2 to 3 times faster in transferring digital photos.

I have noticed a few low scoring reviews, here on Amazon, from people that have had their SanDisk memory cards fail. I am sorry to hear that others have not had as much luck with their SanDisk cards as I have. I suppose there is always going to be a certain amount of failure with any electronic device on the market. All I can say is that I have been using SanDisk flash memory devices for years, including SD, Memory Stick Pro, MicroSD (transflash), CompactFlash, and even several different Cruzer USB flash drives, and have never had one case of failure. I have worked in the I.T. field for over 20 years and I can asure you that I am not a light user by any means. Any data storage media I own is used frequenty and intensly. In my book there is no better manuafacturer of portable memory media than SanDisk, and I will remain a loyal user until they decide to cut back on quality and I start to experience failures and lost data.

I highly recommend this Extreme III series CompactFlash card by SanDisk. I also recommend that you purchase it from Amazon. I made the mistake of buying mine from a local electronics store, which charged me nearly twice the price of what Amazon is selling it for. I was in a hurry and needed it right away, and boy did I pay a premium! Amazon has a great price on this excellent memroy card, and their return policy and customer service are top notch.

The suction cup works fine, however, this suction cup mount is only for certain nuvi devices, something that is not made clear in the product description. It works with the 205w, 200w, 205 and 200 series. I have a 350, and the antenna flap cannot be put in the horizontal position with this mount.
If you’re having problems with the suction cup, be sure to clean the rubber suction cup, as film from the windshield will accumulate and the unit can fall off the window.
Also, if the suction cup is applied near sea level and you drive into the mountains, don’t be surprised if the unit falls off.

Just like the one that came with my GPS unit. Love the ball design, you can move it easily and it stays where you move it to. Suction cup works very well. It did fall off once just after I attached to the window, but it must have been my fault because it has never happened again. Do not leave it attached to the window for long periods of time, especially in the summer months; rubber may stick to the window and once you pry it off it will never be the same.

This thing couldn’t be easier to use, couldn’t be more versatile (in terms of where you can put it), and couldn’t be more reliable. I prefer to use it on my windshield, as opposed to the dashboard mount.

So far, it seems to work as well as the one that came with my GPS. The original mount and bracket were accidentally thrown away by someone not knowing what they were. Glad there was a replacement bracket and mount available.

My non-friction mount was stolen along with the peice to connect my nuvi 200W to the mount so I had to buy this and a whole new mount. It’s overpriced but I needed it!

My old HP scanner (actually, it wasn’t that old) died a few months ago and it was time for me to get a new one. I accidently came across the predecessor to the ScanScap S1500 (the S510) last week while I was having my taxes done and was amazed at the speed and compactness of it. My tax person also gave it glowing reviews. As I wasn’t aware that Fujitsu manufactured scanners, I thought I’d do a little research which led me to reviews of the S510 here on Amazon. Rather amazingly, I was very surprised to find that the S510 had so many extraordinarily high reviews (something that I don’t believe I come across too often, especially with items such as scanners). One of those reviews mentioned that a new model (this one – the S1500) had just been released by Fujitsu. After some more research (it wasn’t yet listed on Amazon), I found that this scanner was available and that it had many new features. As it turns out, I was the “first kid on my block” to acquire one and I’m glad I did! This machine is incredible!

The speed is absolutely blinding – an incredible 20 pages per minute but, because it scans both sides of a page at the same time, double sided documents scan at 40 PAGES PER MINUTE! Wow! As with previous models, this scanner is very small and appears to be well built: it’s quite heavy for its small size and fits very nicely on my small computer desk. The scanning quality is equally spectacular – it scans up to 600 dpi in color, grayscale, and black and white and mine came with a good assortment of software (Adobe Acrobat 9, Rack2-Filer, and ABBYY FineReader). It scans documents beautifully! While I’ve been too busy scanning the billions of pieces of paper that have cluttered my life for years (this scanner will actually do that quickly and efficiently – something I’ve always just dreamed would be possible), I haven’t yet tried to scan photos; I suspect that this scanner will do a good job but that another type of scanner would probably do better for archival purposes).

The only problems I’ve had were with Acrobat (I already have Acrobat 9 Pro on my computer) – I found that importing previously scanned documents into Rack2-filer were always listed in reverse order (ugh!) and Fujitsu tech support replicated the problem. They suggested, however, that I completely uninstall (not just repair) Acrobat and reinstall it. That did the job. BTW, I received great tech support from Fujitsu.

One interesting thing is that this scanner does not come with TWAIN drivers. Because of this, it is not possible to use it to the same extent as other scanners. Just the same, my reason for getting this scanner was to create .pdf files and this scanner does it like no other.

Overall, I’m thrilled with the Fujitsu S1500 – there is no question that it is the best one I’ve had (and I’ve had many) and is well worth the money (the S1500 is also the most expensive scanner I’ve ever purchased). I would recommend this to anyone who needs to scan documents.

I have never had a dedicated document scanner before. In the past, I used the Auto-document feeder on my all-in-one printer/scanner/fax machines to scan documents into adobe acrobat. That meant for each batch of papers, I needed to set the color/resolution/paper size/quality settings and then work through Acrobat in order to save each file. It worked, but it was slow going.

Then I bought this new scansnap 1500, based on the ratings of the earlier model (the scansnap 510). I installed only the main program to my computer (the software also includes OCR programs, organizational programs, and acrobat 9, which I already have). I hooked up the scanner and stuck in a stack of old notes I took from some college courses–some notes were in color, some were b&w, some on two sides, some on one side, and some of the pages were upside down. I hit the only button on the machine (SCAN), and to my sheer amazement, it started flying through the stack of notes without any additional prompts or effort. It then automatically saved my file as a pdf–all of the pages were in order, color pages were in color, b&w pages were in b&w, etc. The only issue I noticed was that if there were any marks whatsoever on the back side of my note papers, it included those blank pages in the file.

I repeated this process with any papers I could get my hands on. I even tried sticking in papers of varying sizes, and it sped through them all without a problem. I am officially hooked. (In a moment of either stupidity or genius, I sliced the spine off of an old book and scanned that in too.)

I did notice a few things that are worth mentioning specifically: 1) This scanner is much smaller than it looks. I was expecting something the size of a inkjet printer, but it is actually about the size of a loaf of bread. 2) You have to place the papers GENTLY into the scanner or it will jam. If I push the papers in too far, it pulls through several pages at a time and the software warns you to start over. 3) I am running the software on Windows 7 RC1, so I can tell you that, at least in my case, it will work on Win7.

My son just turned 18 and we got him an 80GB iPod for his birthday. We gave him an eVo4 iSkin case with it, but that thing was a piece of junk. It took forever to get it on. And after it was on, the iPod looked like an alien being from another planet. And my son couldn’t dock the iPod in his Luna clock radio while it was in the iSkin case. This case provides straight up high quality protection for my silver 6th Generation 120GB iPod Classic. I’ve used several iPod cases over the years. Some too snug or loose, some too thick, some not enough protection. Well, this case has none of those problems. It is easy to slide the iPod in and out, yet it stays put once inserted. The padding feels substantial without there being too much mass. The flip up magnetic cover can be operated with one hand. Access to the click wheel is slightly obstructed, but you can learn to use it within the opening (which could be slightly bigger diameter in my opinion). The case looks and feels like a top quality product.

I have the 120gb iPod Classic and I super love this case. The edges are solid so you don’t have to worry about the iPod getting bruised. As for the fit, it’s tighter than usual but I think it’s because the case is really meant for an 80gb rather than the 120 regardless of what the label says. I don’t mind, anyway, since I’m sure that the iPod won’t slip out at all, whether by accident or not lol. The “holes” are perfectly aligned: the one for the screen, click wheel, cable, and speaker jack. When the leather gets soft enough from use, you can easily flip the cover backwards as a stand, making watching movies easier.

This Ipod sleeve is one of the best that I have had for any of my Ipods. It protects the screen when not in use and it gives you the ability to easily control the click wheel. Also, it has a belt clip to carry it on your belt. It also has the openings for charging/syncing and to put the headphones in without hassling with the cover. The cover has a magnet that catches at the bottom of the front of the sleeve. It is well worth the money and the Ipod (160gig classic) fits perfectly in it. It has a nice feel to it too.

My husband loves it! The case was bought to fit his 120gb Ipod. The back of the case contains a belt clip. The case fits the ipod like a glove so you won’t have to worry about it falling out. It latches shut with a small concealed magnetic in the leather’s front. The case has openings built for the plug ins. The leather looks very nice for the price. I also noticed that the prices on this product plus others seem to change every couple or more days. So look out for the lowest price which should be around $18.99 but you will have shipping/handling of $4.98 added to it. You might do better if free shipping is offered but the base price also goes up plus your ordered has to be more than $25 to take advantaged of that. Over all very pleased!

I agonized about spending $100; money well spent though. Without barely looking at the instructions, I was effortlessly able to enter all the phone numbers in the phone book. This is ideal since first I am a man, and I don’t read instructions. Secondly, it seems when I want to say add a phone number, I usually can’t find the instructional manual when I need it. The phone numbers were automatically updated in all handsets at once, great. I set up the answering machine the same. I was able to assign a different ring tone so we know when our daughter calls. We are old, and this technology learning curve is a killer at times. This is a friendly system. I like the flashing answering machine light that flashes on all handsets when there is a message; and you can access that message from any handset. We gave up checking our old answering machine since we rarely got messages. Then when I did check, I found out the missed call was days ago. It has lots of other options that I doubt we will use, but some will find really handy. Both my wife and I like the nice big, bright display, and the buttons are easy to mash without hitting the wrong one accidentally. Life is suppose to be this easy when making a call.

Bought these phones to replace an older-generation Panasonic base station/cordless set (a la 2002 generation). We did NOT like our older Panasonics but kept them because … well, we spent money on them. Main driver in buying new phones was ability to block individual callers–telemarketers and other nuisance callers driving me CRAZY. Panasonic was the only phone I could find that would allow me to block individual calls using the actual phone versus calling the phone company. VERY leery about buying another Panasonic but I really wanted the call blocking. Read the reviews, reassured, took the plunge. NOT disappointed. These new DECT phones are much, more intuitive than the older ones we had … we can actually save numbers to a phone book without needing a PhD in Product Manual Science. Easy to “train” the phone to recognize our local area code, you program a number/change into any of the units and the other units automatically pick it up. But best of all, the Call Blocking works exactly as promised–you save the nuisance number to the call block menu (or add it manually), the phone rings once, recognizes the blocked number, it stops ringing at your end, the caller gets a rapid busy signal for a second or two and then it hangs up on them. This feature along was well worth the cost of the phones but I’m impressed with many of the other bells and whistles too. Panasonic redeemed itself in our house. Great phone!

We’ve been through our share of cordless phones. NO MORE “no data” on caller ID, NO MORE dropped calls when I walk into the hall of our apartment bldg talk about something I don’t want the kids to hear, NO MORE having to jump up to check the caller ID physically for toll free calls (it announces the caller ID aloud or you can block particular numbers from ringing through at all), the phone book can be used on each of the 3 sets so you don’t have to program them all separately, NO MORE looking for a single cordless when the phone rings (you have 3 to lose now-ha!). And the list goes on. Would highly recommend.

I have been using the Panasonic KX-TG9333T for 4 months now, it’s an excellent set! The voice quality is crystal clear. The phones don’t interfere with my wireless connections. My favorite feature is the Talking Caller ID. Now I know when to answer the phones and ignore the annoying Tele-marketing calls, put them in Block ID afterward, it works like a charm! I bought this from Beach Camera through Amazon, the service was fast and accurate! Couldn’t ask for anything better!

This is an excellent product for a large apartment or house. Three wireless phones are more than enough. Sound quality is excellent. Talking ID helps. The only downside (as mentioned before) is that it does not tell you how many voice messagges you have stored in memory. It should have a way to tell you on the screen.
