This is a great puzzle. My 2 year old twins love it! The only glitch is that for this age, it was hard for them to put the pieces in until I wrote the corresponding numbers on the puzzle. Now they look for the numbers that match & can do the puzzle in no time! They really like it. I’d recommend it for 2-3 year olds.

Melissa & Doug 10 piece magnetic towing puzzle is excellent! Not only do my own children LOVE it, but my students LOVE IT as well. It is educational as well as fun! I highly recommend it for any preschooler!

Like many of the other Melissa and Doug toys, this is very durable with sharp colors and simple patterns. Reminiscent of paper dolls without the flimsy paper, these dolls and clothes keep my daughter content and amused and allow her to use her imagination. My pre-school daughter has happily spent a lot of time dressing the dolls and showing us the “pretty girls.” The outfits cling as magnets so they are easily put on and off. Don’t worry parents, these are not the super-strong magnets that have caused the recalls in many other children’s toys. I will warn parents of small children that you may consider removing the shoes and a few other small clothing items before giving the set to your pre-schooler because those pieces could be a choking hazard. But don’t hesitate to buy this set. it is wonderful for home or grandma’s house.

I bought this for my 2 year old daughter. At first she played with it minimally, and wasn’t so interested, but children develop skills like these so quickly…just a few short months later she plays with it EVERY day…often more than once a day. It really is among her favorite activities.
Because of the choking hazard warning for kids under 3 I did remove the smaller shoes and hats. I also make sure she plays with it only when I’m with her. (She prefers it that way…she hands me one of the dolls and she dresses the other).
It’s so fun how she has favorite outfits she always goes back to, (memory development), has learned to place the items correctly lined up, (motor skills), and chooses various tops and bottoms, (color matching).
The magnets are strong enough to truly hold the clothing in place as dolls stand in their stands.
The choices are many, as far as outfits.
There’s no lid, but all the pieces fit easily into the various compartments. It’s less than 1″ tall laying flat, so it’s very easy to slide under a bed, bookcase, whatever to keep it out of the way w/o spilling.
Easily a five star item that will last long enough to keep for HER children to play with..we love Melissa and Doug pretend food for her play kitchen too!

I gave this to a 3-year-old for Christmas and not only did she immediately want to open it up and play with it but she tuned the Christmas party out for a good deal of time and focused on playing with these dolls. They are very nice for little ones because they are so sturdy and it’s easy to put the clothes on them thanks to the magnets. With the exception of the shoes, the pieces are a pretty good size (the shoes could easily be swallowed so be careful). The dolls are cute and stand up well in a nice solid base and the clothes are also very cute. I think older girls would enjoy playing with this too. Would be nice if it had a carrying case but I think you could put the whole thing in a 2-gallon ziploc.

This is a very nice board for playing Chinese checkers. It’s attractive. It has a nice wooden feel. The divots for the marbles are the right size and nicely spaced. It has a raised edge around the perimeter, so it is unlikely that wayward marbles will find their way to the floor. Unfortunately, the coloring of the marbles is so faint that it is very difficult to tell the difference between the clear color and the light blue color; very difficult to tell the difference between the green color and yellow color. In practice, this is not likely to be a problem at my house because only two people are likely to play at once, and they can choose colors that contrast adequately. But this seems like a conspicuous error that could be easily fixed, and I can only wonder why the supplier has not corrected it.

When I was growing up, my mom kept a cardboard chinese checkers game under her bed that we played constantly. I had so many good memories of playing it with her, that when the game board got so old she had to throw it away, I knew I wanted to get her a new one. I thought it would be easy to find a nice Chinese Checkers set, but it was not. I looked for the longest time, and all of the games either came with additional game, or they just weren’t a good quality. I finally bought a Chinese Checkers game that looked nice on the box, but the marbles inside were plastic! That just wasn’t good enough for me who as a child was fascinated by the smooth glass marbles. When I found this set at a teacher supply store, I immediately bought it. It’s true that it would be nice to have a box, but we don’t need one, as we store under my mother’s bed anyway. Also, the game board had a nice ding in it, which bothered me at first. I finally decided that it just added to the character, because the board is wooden and has a really beautiful aged appearance. I also agree that the coloring of the marbles can make it kind of confusing, but we just glance through them towards a light, and then it is pretty easy to tell the difference. They really are very beautiful. Another thing that I like is that the game board has a raised edge. No more marbles rolling off the bed. Overall, I am very please with this set. I feel so happy to find just what I was looking for, and my mom was thrilled to get it.

melissa & doug’s has quite a good selection of toys. we own a few & will be getting more. i wish them longevity & good business! i bought this stacker a few months ago for my then 19 month old son who was getting frustrated with his donut stacker because they wouldn’t fit out of order. i also want him to have more wooden toys & fewer plastics. the straight pegs on this make stacking & sorting so much more fun for him as all the blocks will fit any of the 3 pegs in any order. he plays with it everyday . it’s also good for dual play, helping to teach sharing & turns by each one taking a turn to put something on & take something off. it makes clean up time fun by making a game of putting all the blocks back on when he’s done playing with it. so far the blocks have been thrown, banged together & also used as they were meant to be used & they are holding up to the toddler usage. a good solid piece of work, bright colors, a good price & something that can be used for many years without seeming ‘babyish’, maybe even passed on to a future generation.

I love that this toy is great for a wide range of ages. My 10 month old got it for Christmas and is great at dumping the blocks off and getting a few back on. My 2 and 5-year-old girls love it too. They can do higher level stacking and sorting by color, shape, and size. I love that all the shapes fit all the poles and the squares can be put together in different combinations, even if they aren’t the same size. This morning I found myself playing with it alone while I was on the phone in the playroom, and my girls were all playing with something else.

My daughter loves to play hangman every time we go out to eat. However we always run out of room on the paper that they give you to draw on. I thought that this would be an awesome way to spend our time traveling, etc. She loves it and brings it everywhere. I was actually surprised when we got it. It was much nicer than I thought it would be. We haven’t used it for too long. I bought it for her for Christmas. She is six years old and plays with it all the time.

I bought this for my five-year-old who got addicted to playing hangman in kindergarten this year. He’s a good reader and is in that inquisitive “how do you spell this?” stage. This game is perfect for him. He has been playing it non-stop (with any willing adult) since he received it. On a recent vacation, he whiled away a good hour in the car and another one on the airplane playing with it. Unlike other travel hangman games, this one has all its pieces attached (other than the pen, which could be replaced). Kudos on a great product!

This paper worked perfectly for my daughter’s Rose Art Smart Easel. Rose Art does not carry the easel paper refills. Although, the rolls were slightly too long, we were able to trim them to the appropriate length. This brand of paper is sturdy and can withstand painting, markers, crayons, etc. without tearing or smearing through. I highly recommend this product!

My kids received the Melissa & Doug easel as a gift a few years ago and I was a bit stingy with using the paper roll as I wasn’t sure where to find a refill. A friend of mine sent me to Amazon where she had gotten some extra rolls and I was thrilled to find an extremely reasonable deal on three rolls of paper. Now my girls are painting, coloring and creating until their hearts are content- let them have paper I say! Great quality paper and good value for the price!

I rated this as a “toy” and it’s not really what I consider to be a “toy” BUT it is of good quality. I used it with an art table I built for my neice. The paper is not too thin and doesn’t tear too easily…which I was a little worried about. It’s pretty much what I expected it to be. I’m really impressed with the price though. When I searched online, you couldn’t beat the price.

Great products for the M & D easel. Only problem was the dry-erase marker. On day 2 of playing with this pen, my children pushed too hard on it when writing on the white board and pushed the ink part back inside the pen, rendering it useless. Bummer. Wish there had been at least 1 more pen in the pack.

I bought this companion set of brushes, paints, etc. to go with the Melissa & Doug Easel for my three year old for Christmas. She’s quite the budding artist and was branching out with her canvases…on my walls! The brushes are sturdy along with the spill proof cups with lids. Note: in order for the cups to actually be spill proof you can only fill the cup half way, which is fine with me since it gives an endpoint for my daughter when she runs out of paint. The bottles of paint weren’t as big as I thought but paint is a minimal cost and we just needed something to get us started. The roll of paper was worth the money and is fairly thick and good qualit; it holds the paint without tearing or bleeding through. I think it was worth the price I paid and would recommend it.

We bought this easel for my daughters (age 6 & 7) last Christmas. As I am starting my Christmas shopping this year and really looking over reviews before I make my purchases, I realized that I should give feedback on some of the things we purchased last year. This easel is very versatile: chalkboard, dry erase board and paper allow for all kinds of artistic expression! Some of the features I appreciate: adjustable legs, paper roll in between the easel boards, shelves for paint, dry erase markers and chalk. We purchased the paint and chalk supplies as well, and I really like the paint dispensers. Even my 2 year old son likes the easel. It’s well balanced too, we have never had it collapse (like another cheaper brand that was purchased for my nephew did). Great product for the price!!

We bought this easel for my 2.5 year old daughter for Christmas last year. She LOVED it, and still does. We did not have any problems with the chalk board like many of the other reviewers. The easel is very sturdy and the trays are very handy to hold all of her materials. We got the companion set of triangular chalk, crayons, paint, brushes and spill-proof cups. It is fantastic! The triangular shape is such a great idea – no chalk and crayons rolling away and breaking. I will say that the paint has a strong odor. She only paints outside on the deck because of the smell and the mess. After a year, she still plays with the easel a few times per week. And an added perk, she developed her fine motor skills, shape and color-recognition very early.

This doll house is the best house and so simple to put together. I’ve never before bought anything to where every single whole lines up but this one did. Very study weighing probably 30-35 pounds. Perfect for the adult collector too. I can’t say ebough about this great dollhouse. Can easily be put together in 2-3 hours with only a power screwdriver. You won’t be sorry.

I bought this for my daughter who is a teenager and wants to collect miniatures. I did not want a kit that required painting and wallpapering and all that, so I bought this “kit”. With a screwdriver, a hammer and about an hour and a half, she had a fully wallpapered, finished floored, tiled roof dollhouse that’s solid and heavy (wood), and I got it for less than half of a kit for a similar house that I would have had to paint and paper. This thing goes together in a snap and it’s beautiful.

My husband was a little apprehensive about assembling the doll house based on other reviews, but he was pleasantly surprised. The directions were very clear and had good illustrations, the pre-drilled holes were lined up perfectly, the pieces were very durable, and the finished product was exceptional. One person can easily assemble this doll house in less than 2 hours with only a small phillips screwdriver.

I was more than pleased when we opened this and put it together Christmas Eve for my goddaughter. She could not wait for us to finish and was sitting at the table before we could even put in the last screw. We were all surprised at how sturdy the chairs were. The grandfathers and grandmothers took turns “having tea” in the extra chair. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for “kid size” furniture.

This table and chairs is well worth the money. It is not only so pretty, but very sturdy and well built. I just absolutely love everything about it. It’s just perfect. I am so happy I found this, but not as happy as my daughter now is! She sits here and colors and colors, eats snacks, has tea parties, just loves it.
