This is my fourth handheld GPS (I have 6 total). My computers are old eTrex first run, an eTrex Vista and Magellan Meridian Platinum. The 60CSx is certainly the best. The most important aspect of any GPS device is able to pick up satellites. Garmin gps 60csx it without fail while being suspended by a belt buckle, while in the deep forests, deep ravines 500 feet in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. My other units have been suspended head at arm up and get that reception spotty at best. The Magellan is probably the best of others, but I do not like the size of it or the location of the buttons or the software is almost as much as the Garmin 60. I Can Palm a basketball, and yet the Magellin is too big for my hand to comfortably operate the buttons. The stability and reproducability the 60CSx is excellent. Consider my trip back to the trailhead on a recent rise. At one point says that the 60CSx was about 150 feet of runway sooner. It seemed too. I bushwacked about 150 feet to find the track and then realized that the road to skiing interspersed with the track and I had not noticed on the way in. In my humble opinion, this is an excellent performance. I purchased the MapSource software that has all the trails I would ever need about $ 100. My only complaint is that the high quality alkaline batteries only last about 10 hours, and not the 30 hours mentioned in the ad text. I wear another set of batteries for a day hike. I am very pleased with this purchase.

As owner of a used GPSII +, the computer or PDA-based GPS solutions exclusively for the last five years, I am pleased with the progress that Garmin has made since returning surprised when I’ve used their stuff last. Not that their devices are always inferior, but I did not take into account developments, and I can not believe that this little gizmo everything I did on my laptop or PDA (if you do well with a smaller screen), and then do things that my other GPS software can not. Furthermore, 60csx is small and lightweight and waterproof. The expansion cards are a little expensive, but my opinion is very much worth it. That’s what I find interesting to note that I work all this technology with the limited buttons and small screen, garmin gps 60csx would be difficult to expect, but they have taken, in fact, the developers should be taken into account (like her) and optimized everything from the color scheme, layout, the properties, so it all very easy to reach. Quite a departure from computer systems, where often everything feels hash together, and the designers have to worry about enough space on the screen or buttons so that they please, no effort into the design their interfaces efficiently. Overall I am very impressed. I am even * more * impressed if Garmin Mac versions of their software releases (for that is what I have, and they have promised). Way to go Garmin!
